Dear Members and Guests,

APRIL 3, 2020

The Governor’s Shelter In Place order ALLOWS golf to continue.  We will remain open and follow all of the recommendations of the CDC.  We look forward to seeing you from at least 6 feet away.  I have attached a letter from the Mississippi Golf Association, they communicated directly with the Governor’s office and receive clarification that golf courses can continue to operate as long as all of the required safety precautions are being followed.

MGA Member Clubs,

I wanted to send an update to each of you following the email that was sent last night regarding obtaining clarification of Governor Reeves’ Shelter in Place Order as it pertains to golf course/maintenance. As of this afternoon we were able to confirm that yes, golf courses can remain open for play and carry out maintenance as long as it is done in accordance with CDC Guidelines. There have been quite a few lists of the CDC Guidelines that have been emailed out but please use the following link that the PGA has published to refresh yourself.

Golf Course Operation Recommendations

I believe that everyone has already taken the proper precautions such as removing rakes from bunkers, using a device to fill the hole liners on the putting greens, sanitizing golf carts and only allowing one person per cart if you choose to still allow carts, as well as shutting down all clubhouse activities and making sure that if you do have F&B service that it is a curbside or take-out option only. There should be no gatherings of 10 or more people at any given time and everyone should remain at minimum six feet apart. It is imperative that all of these guidelines are being met and remembering that golf is an individual sport.

As I stated last night, communication is of upmost importance and please know that the MGA will continue to keep you updated should anything change.

Be safe!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE!

Except Rory McIlroy does it at the Ryder Cup, in one of the most extraordinary singles matches the competition has ever seen.

Fowler and Team USA thrived off a great team vibe against Europe, but when it came to the photos the 27-year-old was left stranded.
